Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item are improved through upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment gives an increase in the linearity of any stat.
Players can recycle six items at one time to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling an item increases according to its rarity and.
Upgrade components
An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally there are many items that can be reforged to increase their stats.
Upgradable items can be found throughout the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the most common method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others provide a general bonus.
There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be put in any kind of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools, and provide various bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.
The amount of upgrade components required for a given item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but it can be reduced using a variety of ways, such as purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.
Many weapons can be improved with a prefix, such as a rune, or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced by adding a suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, for example 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective instrument for communicating visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language, making them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph increases a stat's value by a certain amount. This is shown on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount by the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum value by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are in awe of.
The majority of upgrade components that are added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary upgrades and equipment. However, if you have an unusable rune or glyph that has not yet been incorporated into your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can remove the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.

If upgrade item take an item off after adding a glyph, the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also apply a glyph to your equipment to add an additional benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who take lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to change the affixes on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants players a new random affix, which is usually superior to the original. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, but they can still receive upgrades. If you click the "upgrade button" you can recycle the rerolled items. This will alter the design of the item's window and let up to six items be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity as well as its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than those with lower levels.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls will determine the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolls are a great option to upgrade an item, but users should be aware that it will reduce the total ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls needed to raise it to the final level. This effect is most evident on Rings and Diadems because they are the only options for raising ilvl.
The reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items that allows players to modify their builds without spending too much time and effort. The developers have no plans to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to level up an upgrade for an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second is to boost the upgrade effect that increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. When this is done the new item will retain its iLevel but it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded item type.
When upgrading your items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. Most of the time the chance of a better roll will be derived from glyphs, but there are also opportunities for higher or more special rolls. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a special item type, it is likely to getting an upper level.
Upgrading items can be costly especially when you're upgrading an item of gear from the normal to legendary track. The price will be based on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item could reach the maximum level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will give you a substantial boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level, however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased a value of +3.
Depending on the item's base level and its upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For example, a weapon that is upgraded from a unique or rare to a rare or exceptional item will be able to get the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
